| Between 1923 and 1925, Nils Landberg Studied at the Industrial Design School in Gothenburg, Sweden. From there he enrolled at the engraving school in Orrefors. He remained at Orrefors as a training designer under Simon Gate and Edward Hald. |
| His first designs for Orrefors appear in company catalogs from the 1930Õs and 1940Õs. Thick walled vessels characterize his early work. Later in the early 1940Õs he began to develop thinner more delicate pieces. In 1953 Landberg developed his famous Tulip series. |
| He was awarded a gold medal at the 1954 Milan Triennale. The prize vaulted LandbergÕs reputation to world-class status. Vases by Landberg were included in, an early landmark exhibit shown at many museums across the United States, Design in Scandinavia in 1954.
